D2 STEEL EDGE THAT HOLDS UP, WITH SIMPLE CARE D2 is a high-carbon tool steel built for edge retention, so the broad flat-ground blade keeps slicing through packages, rope and cord without constant touch-ups. Because D2 is carbon steel, wipe the blade dry after wet use and apply a thin coat of knife oil to the edge and pivot to keep rust off in humid or coastal conditions.
